The nature center will be closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Directions

From I-40 take the Fort Smith/Van Buren exit (Exit 7) onto I-540. Go south 11 miles to Zero Street (Exit 11); turn left onto Zero Street. Travel about 3-1/2 to 4 miles and turn right on Massard. Follow Massard for nearly 2 miles and you'll see Wells Lake Rd on the left. Turn left, and the Nature Center is just ahead.

From I-40 take the Fort Smith/Van Buren exit (Exit 7) onto I-540. Take the Springhill/Chaffee exit (Exit 3). Turn south on Ark. Hwy 59. Travel 8-10 miles south, until Hwy. 59 ends at Ark. Hwy. 22. Take a right on Ark. Hwy. 22, (From here you can follow the signs to the nature center). Take a left on Hwy 253 at the light, and follow it about a mile to Veterans Blvd. Turn left on Veterans Blvd and take an immediate right on Fort St. Fort St. turns into Wells Lake Rd, and follow it about 3 miles and you'll see the Nature Center and Wells Lake are on the right.
