Directions

From I-40 take the Fort Smith/Van Buren exit (Exit 7) onto I-540. Go south 11 miles to Zero Street (Exit 11); turn left onto Zero Street. Travel 4 miles and turn right on Veterans Avenue. Take a right on Ft. Smith Blvd. at the first stop sign. Follow Ft. Smith Blvd., which turns into Wells Lake Road, approximately 2 miles. The Nature Center and Wells Lake are on the right.

Take the Springhill/Chaffee exit (Exit 3). Turn south on Ark. Hwy 59. Travel 8-10 miles south, until Hwy. 59 ends at Ark. Hwy. 22. Take a right on Ark. Hwy. 22 going into Barling, and follow the Nature Center signs from there. From Hwy 22, you'll take a left on Hwy 255, and follow it less than a mile. Turn left on Veterans Avenue. Take a right on Ft. Smith Blvd. at the first stop sign. Follow Ft. Smith Blvd., which turns into Wells Lake Road, approximately 2 miles. The Nature Center and Wells Lake are on the right.

Or you may take the new Massard Expansion south from either Hwy 22 or Zero St (Hwy 255). Massard dead ends and Wells Lake Road begins on your left. You'll see the nature center just ahead!
